80" Piper Club
Donette doesn't get out to fly as much as she used to and so has opted for the simplicity of electric aircraft - but big and scale.
This 1/5 scale, 80" Hangar 9 ARF Cub kit has been retrofitted with an Astro Flight 25 Cobalt geared motor turning an APC 14x7e prop. It flies some 7-8 minutes on a 14 cell / 2000 mah power pack.
No attempt was made to lighten the 8 1/2 pound aircraft - modification from gas to electric took only some 30 minutes.
Performance is certainly Cub like and Donette now need only charge and fly - no flight box or fuel to carry, no engine tuning or messy cleanup required.
